Hints & Tips
The best advice is to be prepared..
Read our Terms & Conditions above before selling items at the car boot sale for any item restrictions. Once you’re ready, sort out your goods ready for sale, consider the values and ideally price them up before you arrive. If safe and practical, load up your car the night before and remember to put your table or groundsheet in last.
Watch the weather forecast, and prepare for your day ahead. There is no shade or shelter from rain or sun in the field so a handy umbrella is a useful addition. If there is a chance of rain, a plastic cover would be handy to cover your items too. Click here to get the weather forecast for our local area.
Some sellers like to use a gazebo, canopy, awning or umbrella if the forecast is unsettled. We do not make an additional charge to add one above your stall but you will need to consider the space in your vehicle and the time to erect it.
Bring PLENTY of change with you and please have the correct entry money ready when you arrive. A money belt, 'bum bag' or belt pack can be a good idea to keep your money secure. Do not use a cash tin or leave cash unsecured.
Do make sure that your boot is locked when you arrive and until you are ready to set up. Please note that trading is not permitted before 7am.
We do recommend that you bring a friend or relative. To help, have fun with and share the day. You'll appreciate the help to mind your stall when you need the loo or a coffee break, and help watch over your goods if you are engaged with a buyer.
You are very welcome to bring non-alcoholic drinks, foods or sweets for your own consumption but you cannot sell these items at the car boot sale as there are strict regulations controlling the sale of foods.
If you're still unsure, come along as a buyer first and see what works.
*Peak times travel advice*
The car boot sale is a popular destination and this can mean a longer waiting time for entry earlier in the morning. We do operate an onsite queue system off the main road for safe access with all spaces fairly allocated to the sellers field. Please note that gates do not open before 6am.
From 11am onwards can be a peak time for vehicles leaving the car boot sale. Please consider this within your travel schedule. Sellers are free to leave at any point during the morning up to the close of the sale at midday.
