Lead Chef/Restaurant Manager
£16.50 hr plus profit led bonus
5 weeks holiday plus
This is an opportunity for an experienced lead chef/restaurant manager to develop our main restaurant within the Garden Centre at Country Market.
This is a new role to head a new catering team. Your role will be to develop and grow the forthcoming re-launch of our restaurant, offering reasonable value to our customers and utilising the fresh ingredients from our farm. Open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea as part of our modern farm and garden shopping experience.
Full time role based on 42.5 hours including alternate weekend working. Daytime hours only.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Produce simple food menus with achievable budgets.
- Manage the team rota and holidays with the administration team.
- Provide consistently good food and service for our customers.
- Maintain a high standard of food safety, and a clean and safe workplace.
- Communicate effectively to train, coach and develop the team.
- Respond to customer needs courteously and effectively.
- Carry out all reasonable duties as requested by management.
- Work as part of the management team and liaise closely with business owners.
- Champion and uphold the values and policies of Country Market.

Garden Centre Sales Assistant & Merchandiser
Weekend £12 p/hour - 20 years & over
from £9.50 p/hour - 18 &19 years

Country Market part time vacancies for the role of Sales Assistant & Merchandiser within our Garden Centre. This is a physically active role, ideally suited for an approachable individual with experience in retail and some knowledge in horticulture or gardening. Working weekends is a necessary requirement of this position. General duties include:
- providing assistance and advice to customers
- pricing and labelling of goods for sale
- plant care and maintenance
- safe manual handling
- receiving goods in, stock merchandising and displays
- working and communicating with team
- maintaining a clean and safe workplace
- use of in house telephone system and stock control system
- use of palletised truck for movement of palletised goods (subject to capability)
- effective use of waste recycling facilities, baler and compactor
Checkout Operator & Store Merchandiser
Weekends £12 p/hour - 20 years & over.

Role consists of till operation, customer service and stock replenishment within our farm shop. Seasonal and part time positions available with previous experience preferred. Working weekends is a necessary requirement for this position. Duties include:
- To work within a team
- Accurate operation of EPOS till system and accounting of sales
- Merchandising and presentation of stock
- Safe manual handing
- Lifting and carrying of goods.
- Unpack and check supplier deliveries
- Provide help to customers & support to colleagues
- Maintain clean and safe workplace practices
- Maintain company policies
- Maintain routines for date checking of products
- Use of in house telephone system and stock control system
- Effective use of waste recycling facilities, baler and compactor
- Have a positive and mature manner, interest and commitment.
- Full time work of 5 days a week including minimum one day at weekend
Checkout Operator & Store Merchandiser (Weekend)
Weekends from £12 p/hour - 20 years & over.

This role is focussed towards till operation, stock replenishment and customer assistance. Previous experience in a similar position is preferred but not a requirement This role is for weekend work only in a busy environment. Flexibility to work Saturdays only, Sundays only or both days but a regular full day committment is required. Duties include:
- To work within a team

Horticultural Plant Nursery Assistant - Seasonal Work

Seasonal work available within our plant growing nursery. Would suit physically active person with interest or experience in plants. Involves manual handling (standing on feet much of the day) and working within an outdoor environment (can be cold, can be hot). No previous experience required but reliability, willingness to learn and ability to follow instruction is essential. Routine tasks include:
- Potting and transplanting of plants
- Deadheading and tending to growing plants
- Loading, moving and unloading of plants, and laying out.
- Labelling and preparing plants for sale.
- Keeping workplace tidy.and safe.
